Tall tales and fantastic food with Grimm’s Faery Feast at The Met this Christmas

Between 17 & 24 December join the brothers Grimm in their special kitchen at The Met as they cook up a feast of miraculous stories and special food in Grimm’s Faery Feast. Taste the witch’s house and smell the wonders of the juniper tree as the cooks sing and tell the classic fairy stories in a fantastic new version of the Grimm’s tales adapted by Ian McMillan.


Immerse yourself in a fairy tale world

Imagine wandering into the theatre foyer and immediately immersing yourself in the world of the Grimm stories with installations inspired by the tales, then walking up the stairs through a dark forest to get to Cinderella’s ballroom where the feast is taking place.

Tasty Treats

Open the doors to the ballroom and see the candlelit table spread the full length of the theatre and smell the food cooked up by the story telling chefs. Enjoy the tasty treats and snacks and be transported to a world of food, forests and fairies in a fantastic immersive feast.

An original and wonderful treat Grimm’s Faery Feast integrates quality culinary treats created by award winning chef Stephen Taylor (World Culinary Cup: individual gold medal), beautiful music developed by Roddy B and a fantastic new script by the Bard of Barnsley alongside Proper Jobs trademark visual, dynamic and visceral style.

Sugar or Spice?
Before coming together at the candlelit table in the theatre you will experience the installations in two separate smaller groups. When you buy your tickets decide whether you want to be Sugar or Spice and this will decide what form your experience takes. Each group will take a different path through the installations but will still have the opportunity to experience everything Grimm’s Faery Feast has to offer.
