Ramsbottom Festival has teamed up with The Chocolate Café in Ramsbottom to create a special edition chocolate bar to celebrate the festival’s 5th birthday. A competition was launched to find the flavour of the festival and winner Michael Prest created the Choc Berry Choo Choo, milk chocolate with raspberry jelly, candied orange and shortbread pieces.
Ramsbottom Festival started in 2011 and has attracted headliners such as Sinead O’Connor, The Waterboys and Inspiral Carpets. The headliners for the 5th Ramsbottom Festival have been revealed as Idlewild and The Proclaimers with the Friday headliner still to be announced. Other acts at the festival include Moulettes, Tom Robinson Band, Mark Radcliffe’s Galleon Blast and many more with others to be announced soon. There’s also a whole host of family arts and events on offer, from stone balancing to free running and 50s soul tap dancing to acrobatic theatre you’re sure to find something that grabs your family’s attention.
Entries to the chocolate competition were asked to encapsulate the atmosphere of the festival, taking their inspiration from past and present festival artists, the Bury and Ramsbottom area and their own past experiences of the festival. Michael said ‘I used the idea of a train themed chocolate bar as the Ramsbottom Festival is really unique in that it’s probably the only festival where you can arrive by steam train. The colours of the ingredients also match the fantastic festival logo.’
The 1000 bars of the special edition chocolate will be sold from the beginning of June in the run up to the festival at The Chocolate Café and The Vineyard Wine Shop in Ramsbottom, The Met, The Clarence and the Tourist Information Centre in Bury as well as online and at the festival whilst stocks last. There will also be a golden ticket in 3 of the special edition bars – find one of these and you have won a pair of weekend VIP tickets for the festival!
Tickets for the festival are available now from www.ramsbottomfestival.com/tickets with a selection of family, adult, teen and child tickets available with under 6s going free and camping tickets from £15 a night.
