Hilarious Comedy Sleuth at The Met this November

On Wednesday 26 November award-winning comedian, writer and actor Sophie Willan comes to The Met with her debut solo show, The Novice Detective, at 8pm.

.

A warm and charming performer with a sharp acerbic wit, Sophie Willan exudes bundles of energy on stage. Her unusual life experiences and multi disciplinary practice make for an original voice that has been described as “smart, unpredictable and hilarious” (What’s On Stage).

“Victoria Wood with an attitude problem” – BBC Comedy.

The Novice Detective us a whirlwind one-woman show depicting the true story of how Sophie and her slightly psychic Gran found her long lost father. The interactive ‘who-is-it’ fuses stand-up, comedy, and theatrical chaos to tell a story of fantasy, failure, grief, love, and ultimately of hope. Expect laughs, tears, confetti and lots of detective spoofery.

“Willan is great comedic company, naturally funny and the audience love her” – The Scotsman

Sophie has recently enjoyed sell-out runs at Edinburgh Fringe 2014 the Women In Comedy Festival 2014 as well as receiving a nomination for Best Show at the Funny Women Awards and packing out over 60 theatres across the UK and performing at BBC Comedy Presents, The Frog and Bucket, The Royal Vauxhall Tavern, Monkey Business, Comedy Playground, Mother’s Ruin, Laughing Cows, and XS Malarkey.

Tickets to see her at The Met are £10, or £8 for concessions. For more information or to book phone 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz
