Unique re-telling of Shakespeare comes to The Met

To mark Shakespeare’s 450th birthday, The Met in Bury present a new adaptation of the great writer’s most famous works in Shakespeare’s Deadly Sins on Wednesday 8 October at 8pm.

From award-winning director Willie Longmore and acclaimed playwright Conor McKee, this unique and thrilling production takes the audience on a journey through gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, pride, lust and envy.

Haunting vocal harmonies and searing stage combat are woven through the action as moments from less performed plays and sonnets come alongside scenes from the classic works; Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. An ensemble of four actors alternate lead roles and supporting roles throughout the performance.

The production reunites McKee and Longmore following successful collaborations on Macbeth in 2012 and 2013, Thrasher in 2011 and Burnt in 2012.

Shakespeare’s Deadly Sins is suitable for ages 12+ and tickets are £10, or £6 for concessions. For more information or to book phone Box Office on 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz.
