Hayseed Dixie frontman presents solo work

Hayseed Dixie’s John Wheeler comes to The Met in Bury for an intimate solo performance on Saturday 11 October at 8pm.

John Wheeler is best known as the creator and frontman of the internationally-known ‘Rockgrass’ band Hayseed Dixie, whose recordings have sold over 600,000 copies worldwide.

Hayseed Dixie rose to prominence in 2001 with A Hillbilly Tribute to AC/DC – 10 AC/DC hits, refashioned with a banjo, mandolin, dobro and a good dose of satire. Kiss, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and Queen are just some of the artists who have undergone the Hayseed Dixie treatment since. John describes his solo work as ‘acoustic-electric jazz-punk riding on the back of some old-school folk-funk’.

There is a lot more to John Wheeler than a covers artist, albeit a highly unconventional one, but then we always knew that was the case.” – FATEA

Tickets to see John Wheeler at The Met are £12. For more information or to book phone Box Office on 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz.
