High-flying fiddler Gordie MacKeeman comes to Bury

On Thursday 17 July award-winning Canadian roots outfit Gordie MacKeeman and his Rhythm Boys come to The Met.

.

Gordie MacKeeman and his Rhythm Boys serve up old-time roots music with an energy level that practically yanks you out of your seat by the collar. Guided by the sharp cuts of his fiddle, his famous crazy legs shake and a laughing regard for physics, Gordie MacKeeman launches into each song accompanied by a surefooted roots instrumentation from his Rhythm Boys.

The Rhythm Boys’ live show has drawn international attention, winning Roots/Traditional Group of the Year 2014 at Canada’s East Coast Music Awards and the Galaxie Supernova Award at the 2012 Ottawa Folk Festival. The group toured the United Kingdom three times last year, including at Ramsbottom Festival and at Glastonbury.

Released in 2013, current album, Pickin’ n Clickin’, offers fifteen tracks of rockabilly-inspired rhythms with MacKeeman’s perfectly executed fiddle work.

Tickets to see Gordie Mackeeman are £15. For more information or to book phone Box Office on 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz
