Blues musician and teacher opens the floor to the audience

Musician and music teacher Mat Walklate hosts a Blues Harp Night at The Met on Thursday 31 July at 8pm.

Mat Walklate fronts two blues bands as a vocalist and harmonica player; Depot Blues and The Moochers. He also plays Irish Traditional music on the flute, harmonica, whistle and uilleann pipes and teaches harmonica both in schools and at The Met in Bury on Monday evenings.

The Blues Harp Night will begin with a few tunes from Mat, with the help of Italian blues guitar ace Paolo Fuschi, before the floor opens to all comers to get up and play in a wide variety of blues styles, both amplified and acoustic. The evening will also include a short Q&A session with Mat and Paolo for customers to learn more about their various playing styles and methods.

Tickets for the Blues Harp Night with Mat Walklate are £8 and amps and mics are provided. For more information or to book phone Box Office on 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz
