Folk Singer of the Year Bella Hardy Celebrates 30th with her Fans

BBC Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year Bella Hardy comes to The Met with a special concert celebrating her 30th birthday on Wednesday 25 June at 8pm.

Bella Hardy’s captivating voice inhabits characters and stories with an equal balance of strength and sensitivity. Her songs range from fairytales to working class history, childhood nostalgia, myth, murder and the human condition, touching on both the fantastical, story telling elements of Kate Bush, and the lovelorn song-writing craft of Carole King.

Bella was crowned Folk Singer of the Year 2014 at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards this February, and has previously won Best Original Song in 2012 (for The Herring Girl) and received four further nominations. Her latest album, Battleplan, was released in 2013, garnering mass critical acclaim with The Sunday Times describing it as “Stunning”.

Unveiled, committed, uncontrived, persuasive, passionate, empowering, and utterly wonderful” – fRoots

For this special tour, Bella is travelling to thirty of her favourite venues to play songs from her six solo albums to date and celebrate her milestone birthday with her fans.

Tickets to see Bella Hardy are £14, or £12 for concessions. For more information or to book phone Box Office on 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz.
