Harmony Singing meets Doo-Wop and R&B with The Sojourners

Celebrated Canadian gospel trio The Sojourners bring their own blend of vocal harmony and ‘stank’ to The Met on Wednesday 4 June at 8pm.

With hints of doo-wop, R&B, country and blues, The Sojourners sing ‘praise music’ that can take a punch and stay standing, sounding just as at home in a bar as in a church. They have performed at folk, roots and jazz festivals across the globe and received nominations for a Juno Award (Canada’s version of The Grammys) and a Canadian Folk Music Award for their earthy vocals, gorgeous harmonies and effortless swing.

The Sojourners have released thee albums in their own right; Hold on (2007), The Sojourners (2010) and Sing and Never Get Tired (2013), with a steady stream of invitations to contribute to the recordings and live performances of a diverse range of artists from the outer reaches of jazz to beat box and street poetry.
