The Bills present globally inspired roots music from Canada

Innovative Canadian roots outfit The Bills come to The Met with their second album, Yes Please, on Wednesday 28 May at 8pm.

Once hailed as “the best live act I have ever seen” in a Maverick magazine review, The Bills have blown away concert-goers and festival crowds around the globe with their instrumental virtuosity, tight vocal arrangements and exuberant live shows. Their music draws on influences from a combination of European traditions, Latin American rhythms and Romany melodies to produce evocative new material and innovative interpretations of traditional tunes.

Their sound is panoramic, mischievous, fiercely unpretentious – and musically splendid” – Boston Globe

The Bills feature an all-star line-up of talent from Canada’s west coast, including Chris Frye (guitar/lead vocals), Marc Atkinson (mandolin/guitar/vocals), Adrian Dolan (fiddle/accordion/piano/vocals), Richard Moody (violin/viola/vocals) and Scott White (upright bass). Since forming in 1996 they have racked up a string of Canadian music awards and built a devoted fan following that extends across North America and Europe.
