Canada’s award-winning The Paperboys come to Bury

Juno Award winning fusion band The Paperboys come to The Met on Saturday 14 June at 8pm.

.

The Paperboys blend Celtic folk with Bluegrass, Mexican, Eastern European, African, zydeco, soul, country, pop and rock. Over the past 15 years the band have produced eight acclaimed albums, been on countless tours of North America and Europe and amassed a collection of industry accolades and music awards, including Canada’s version of The Grammys, The Juno Awards.

One of the most exciting bands to come out of the folk-roots corner. The most exuberant record I’ve heard in ages… breathtaking.” – fRoots

The Paperboys’ latest album, Callithump, displays the perfect marriage of all the bands’ styles in a way never done before. The infectious hooks of the horns blended with the lyrical sounds of the fiddle and flute make for a melodic delight, while the influence of Latin and African rhythms make the groove on this album truly dance worthy.

Tickets to the event are £12, or £10 for concessions. For more information or to book tickets phone 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz.
