Up-and-coming Jazz star Ben Cox comes to Bury

Upcoming Jazz singer Ben Cox comes to The Met on Saturday 10 May at 8pm.

Ben Cox brings a fresh and unique sound to the Jazz scene and is fast gaining a reputation for his mesmerising tone and delivery. Together with his band he plays a mixture of classics alongside their own original material. Their live performances are fresh, bold and exciting – yet steeped in the history of songwriters such as Neil Young, James Taylor and Paul Simon.

Ben initially studied classical piano and trumpet, but he was also lead vocalist and trumpeter with the Essex Youth Jazz Orchestra for several years. His love of jazz lead him to London where he studied at Guildhall and became a member of a-cappella group Vive.

In 2013 Ben launched The Ben Cox Band as a result of collaboration with pianist Jamie Safiruddin. The band release their debut album, The Waiting Game, in summer 2014. The Ben Cox Band will be joined at The Met by BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year 2014 Alexander Bone.

Tickets for the performance at The Met are £10. For more information or to book phone 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz
