PADOS Youth Group take on the Phantom

The Met welcomes the return of Prestwich Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society with their adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera from Wednesday 19 – Saturday 22 March.

Based on the classic novel Le Fantôme de L’Opéra by Gaston Leroux, The Phantom of the Opera is a haunting tale of obsession, unrequited love and redemption. Erik, a disfigured musical genius, lurks within the depths of the Paris Opera House exercising a reign of terror over all who inhabit it. He falls madly in love with an innocent young soprano and devotes himself to creating a new star by nurturing her extraordinary talents and employing the devious methods at his command.

Now in their twenty-fourth year, PADOS Youth Theatre Group give young people the opportunity to experience all aspects of theatre both on and off stage. The Phantom of the Opera follows a string of successful shows at The Met including; Les Miserables (2010), Fame (2011), Broadway Rocks (2012) and Rent: School Edition (2013).

The Phantom of the Opera will run at 7.30pm on Wednesday 19 – Saturday 22 March, with a matinee on Saturday 22 March at 2.30pm. Tickets to see the show are £10 on Wednesday and £12 for all other performances. For more information or to book go online at www.themet.biz or phone Ticket Office on 0161 761 2216.
