Glass-Eye Theatre Company come to The Met with brand-new physical theatre show The City and Iris on Wednesday 26 March at 8pm.
Today seems like any other morning for Iris. But when her glasses break in a curious accident she finds herself propelled on an unusual journey as the city she thought she knew comes alive in bewildering and thrilling new ways.
Specialising in physical storytelling and trained in the style of French actor and mime Jacques Lecoq, Glass-Eye Theatre manipulate objects, bodies and voices to create a unique and enigmatic world. In The City and Iris ‘The City’ is performed by a talented chorus of five actors ingeniously contorting their bodies and a length of red rope to become everything from creaky wardrobes to bread-stealing ducks.
“This group ooze ingenuity, creativity and an astute eye which highlights the funny, the sad, the bad and the mad” – The Edinburgh Guide.
Tickets to see The City and Iris are £10, or £6 for concessions. For more information or to book phone 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz.
