Genius of Comedy Rob Newman airs Misfits Theory

Mary Whitehouse Experience and Newman and Baddiel star Rob Newman comes to The Met with his first comedy show in seven years, Rob Newman’s New Theory of Evolution, on Wednesday 12 March at 8pm.

.

In Rob Newman’s New Theory of Evolution, Rob takes a look at the 150 year controversy of evolutionary theory, using natures ‘freaky facts’ to hilariously demonstrate his ‘survival of the misfits’ hypothesis.

A giant of nineties comedy, New Theory of Evolution is Rob’s fifth solo stand-up show, following on From Caliban to The Taliban in 2003 and Apocalypso Now in 2005, which was recorded and aired by More4 under the title A History of Oil.

“I am completely in awe of Robert Newman. Of his talent, his passion, his intelligence, and the way he turns them to comedy with real firepower. If this world could be saved by a Superhero whose Superpower was Comedy, that hero would be Robert Newman.” The Scotsman

Alongside using his genius for comedy purposes, Rob also writes regularly for The Guardian and Vice magazine, and has produced four novels.

Tickets for the show are £12.50. For more information or to book go online at www.themet.biz or phone Ticket Office on 0161 761 2216.
