One of the most popular and unique acts on the contemporary folk scene, duo Belinda O’Hooley and Heidi Tidow return to The Met on Thursday 13 March with new album, The Hum.
O’Hooley and Tidow’s beautifully unusual songs touch on every human emotion; drawing on love and loss, dark and humorous folk tales and everything from the invisibility of the elderly, through to ecology, rumour-mongering and the global economy. With their interweaving harmonies and sublime musicality, they were nominated for Best Duo in the 2013 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards
“The duo’s self-written, reflective songs are heightened by stark but beguiling arrangements and their stirring voices“ – Songlines
O’Hooley and Tidow’s 2012 album, The Fragile, garnered four-star reviews from Mojo, Uncut and Songlines, with The Guardian deeming them “Stunning and delightfully unconventional”. New Album The Hum was released on Friday 21 February this year to further rave reviews.
“The new record is gorgeous” – Lauren Laverne, BBC 6 Music
Tickets for the show are £10. For more information or to book go online at www.themet.biz or phone Ticket Office on 0161 761 2216.
