John Herring presents melodic Northern grit

Upcoming Salford singer-songwriter John Herring comes to The Met with his band on Saturday 1 March 8pm.

John Herring’s songs combine the lyrical grit of the North West with sweeping strings and guitars to meld pop, indie and melody. He has two critically acclaimed albums under his belt – Tales From A Northern City and It Starts Again – and has performed in a string of high profile, interesting and unique places, including 2012’s Ramsbottom Festival.

Herring’s vocals provide a very attractive cocktail of purity and northern grit – it’s the kind of complexity you’ll find elsewhere in performances by Doves or I Am Kloot” – Manchester Music

The John Herring Band will be supported by acoustic duo The Remedy, who were described by a local journalist as “tall and skinny and tight and melodic”.

Tickets for the event are £8 or £6 for concessions. For more information or to book phone 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz.
