Another chance to Call Mr. Robeson as the sell-out show returns to Bury

Following on from a sold-out performance in 2011, Tayo Aluko returns to Bury with another opportunity to see Call Mr. Robeson on Thursday 13 March at 8pm.

Call Mr. Robeson is a rollercoaster journey through actor/singer Paul Robeson’s remarkable life. The show highlights how Robeson’s radical activism caused his downfall, and features some famous songs (including a dramatic rendition of Ol’ Man River), some fiery oratory and a defiant testimony to McCarthy’s Senate House Un-American Activities Committee.

“First-rate. A fine job” –  **** The Guardian

“A must-see experience. A treasure of a show” – D C Theater Scene

Written and performed by Liverpool-based playwright and singer Tayo Aluko, Call Mr. Robeson has been performed across the UK, USA, Canada, Nigeria and Jamaica. The show received a standing ovation at New York’s Carnegie Hall and has won multiple awards including a Nova Scotia Award for Best Musical Performance and Best Solo Show at the Stratford-Upon-Avon Fringe.

Tickets to see Call Mr. Robeson are £12. For more information or to book go online at www.themet.biz or phone Ticket Office on 0161 761 2216.
