Teeside trio The Young’Uns come to The Met on Thursday 28 November at 8.30pm.
The Young’Uns have established a fast-growing reputation in the folk world with a cappella harmonies, irrepressible humour, bold vocals, gripping storylines and innate musicality. Describing their gigs as ‘absolute chaos’, the trio go on stage without set-lists, relying on instinct and their unique rapport with audiences to deliver a killer show.
“One of the most popular and entertaining live acts on the folk scene today”
With their music rooted firmly in Teeside – specifically Stockton – Sean Cooney, Michael Hughes and David Eagle first started singing together at a local folk club. The band have spread their wings with their latest album, When Our Grandfathers Said No, which includes a stomping French song, Pique la Baleine, as well as strong original material including Cooney’s ‘The Battle of Stockton’.
Tickets to see The Young’Uns at The Met are £12. For more information or to book tickets phone 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz.
