Moulettes come to The Met with their original blend of folk-rock on Thursday 5 December at 8pm.
Moulettes incorporate prog-rock, pop, indie, jazz, blues and classical into their charismatic and inventive music to stunning effect. Their entrancing combination of strings, weirdness and rhythm has lead to comparisons with The Unthanks, Tom Waits and Shostakovitch.
“Moulettes are among the frontrunners of the new British acoustic scene thanks to their sophisticated, unpredictable approach. Adventurous, charming, edgy as well as upbeat.” – The Guardian
The band were nominated in the Best Group category at the BBC’s Alternative BRIT Awards and won the equivalent category at the Fatea Awards in 2012 and the Spiral Earth Awards in 2013. They have enthralled audiences at festivals including End Of The Road, Cambridge Folk, Cropredy, Latitude and Bestival and supported the likes of Mumford & Sons, Seasick Steve, The Levellers and Seth Lakeman.
Moulettes will be accompanied at The Met by Manchester singer songwriter Liz Green.
Tickets for the event are £10 or £8 for concessions. For more information or to book tickets phone 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz.
