Top comedian Holly Walsh comes to First Thursday Comedy Club at The Met on Thursday 5 December at 8.30pm.
Holly Walsh likes to tell gags. There’s no character to work through, no long rambling stories, and you certainly won’t get her doing half an hour on what it’s like to be a woman. She prefers to focus on the futility of temporary office work, her dislike of trendy bars and her love of the credit crunch. Her insights on the timing of the Queen’s speech and whether anyone has actually seen the Mousetrap not only make you laugh but actually make you think.
“The Rice Krispies of the comedy world: she’s gifted with snappy wit and crackling talent and has polished a standup routine that is as feelgood and funny as the best bubblegum pop.” – The Guardian
Having started her comedy career in 2006, Holly’s television credits include; Edinburgh and Beyond, Big Brother’s Little Brother, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Mock The Week, You Have Been Watching and Would I Lie To You. She’s also the one who broke her arm after jumping off the end of Worthing pier while participating in the annual Worthing Birdman event.
Holly will be supported at First Thursday Comedy Club by Ben Van der Velde, a stand-up comedian, actor and improviser who has performed at comedy clubs across Britain.
Tickets for the comedy club are £10 or £8 for concessions. For more information or to book tickets phone 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz.
