Peter Kay’s favourite hilarious housewife comes to First Thursday Comedy Club this August

First Thursday Comedy Club in August features Phoenix Nights star Barbara Nice and cheeky Scotsman Brian Higgins performing their hilarious material at The Met on Thursday 1 August at 8.30pm.

Mrs Barbara Nice is the comedy creation of Janice Connolly, spotted by Peter Kay in 1998 she has starred in That Peter Kay Thing, Phoenix Nights, Max and Paddy and Coronation Street (as Peter’s mum). Barbara is your average Stockport housewife who given up the domestic bliss of Tupperware and Poundstretcher shops for the unpredictability of the comedy world. With the affectionate attitude of a playgroup leader at a wild Iggy Pop concert, Barbara is guaranteed to warm the heart of any audience.

Brian Higgins has been working on the comedy circuit for over fourteen years, having moved to London in his teens from a small fishing Village in central Scotland. His material is cheeky and upbeat, with topical material alongside well-crafted stories of fatherhood, pregnancy and day-to-day life.
