First Thursday Comedy Clubs in Bury and Ramsbottom present the second of the Edinburgh Fringe previews on Thursday 4 July, with top comedians Tony Law and Daliso Chaponda showcasing their one-man shows before heading north of the border.
Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee 2012 and triple Chortle Award winner Tony Law presents gloriously absurd, loud and ridiculous comedy. As seen on Have I Got News For You, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Alternative Comedy Experience and Deal or No Deal(!), Tony has sold-out at the Edinburgh Fringe two years in a row.
“Law’s genius for the random makes Salvador Dali look about as abstract as Constable” – Metro
Daliso Chaponda is Malawi’s finest comedian (seriously). Having built his comedy career on jokes about the insane behaviour of Westerners, his new and rave-reviewed show Laughrica focuses a humorous eye on Africa. Corruption, tribalism, colonialism, HIV epidemics, absolute dictatorships, ivory smuggling, witch doctors… Africans are even crazier. Laughrica has already been across Africa and now it’s coming to the UK.
“His amiable style ensures it’s not preachy, instead uplifting, and above all, simply funny.” – The List
