The Met plays host to the world’s greatest swing band, King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys on Friday 7 June at 8pm.
King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys have been on the road for almost three decades playing in every European country as well as touring the USA, Russia and the Middle East. Dazzling musicianship, riveting stage performances, more than 50 TV appearances (including, somewhat bizarrely, five episodes of Teletubbies) and 75 radio broadcasts have established them as the kings of swing.
“To those who say that swing is a musical form best left to Americans, prepare to be proven wrong. This British combo is bullet-proof!” – Atomic Magazine
The current line-up features King Pleasure on vocals and baritone sax, Bullmoose K. Shirley on guitar, Boysy Battrum on alto and tenor saxes, Mighty Matt Foundling tickling the ivories, double bassist Shark Van Schtoop and Gary ‘The Enforcer’ Barber on drums.
Tickets are £14 for the seated area and £10 for the standing area. For further information or to book tickets please go online at www.themet.biz or phone ticket office on 0161 761 2216
