Folk-rock pioneers Fairport Convention return to The Met

The legendary Fairport Convention return to The Met on Friday 31 May 8.30pm presenting a mix of new songs and re-workings of their classic collection.

.

Formed in 1967’s ‘summer of love’, Oxfordshire-based Fairport has been delighting audiences for 46 years. One of the most enduring groups to emerge from the fertile 60s music scene and hailed as the originators of British folk-rock music, Fairport Convention is still as vibrant and inventive as ever.

The band’s performance at The Met will feature material from the recent critically-acclaimed album Festival Bell as well as a selection of favourite songs and tunes specially chosen in a poll of the band’s fans.

“We’ve played in Bury before but we always enjoy coming back here, in fact, The Met is one of our favourite venues and we particularly look forward to playing there again” – Simon Nicol.

Tickets for the performance are now sold out. For further information or to add your name to the waiting list please go online at www.themet.biz or phone ticket office on 0161 761 2216.
