The Met welcomes American premier old-time fiddler and defining virtuoso of Appalachia’s timeless folk music traditions, Bruce Molsky, on Thursday 16 May at 8pm.
Bruce Molsky performs on fiddle, guitar and banjo and has been exploring traditional music from an astonishingly broad range of cultures over the past two decades — synthesizing them and refracting them through his own evolving sensibilities. His music is defined by a personal sense of authenticity, whether performing an ancient reel from Virginia, a Sweedish waltz or a loping cowboy ballad.
“In a world where the music not infrequently gets subordinated to the gratification of personal ego, Bruce Molsky is the real deal.” – The Living Tradition
Alongside his prolific solo career, Bruce frequently joins genre busting supergroups such as Fiddlers Four, Mozaik, Nickel Creek and performs in a trio with Aly Bain and Ale Moller.
Tickets to see the performance are £14. For further information or to book please phone The Met’s ticket office on 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz.
