Shifting Sands Theatre Brings a Comic Package of Warehouse Life to Bury

The Met welcomes Shifting Sands Theatre Company with Boxed In – A Comic Package of Warehouse Life on Thursday 18 April at 8pm.

In a world of mounting economic catastrophes, with job security a thing of the past Boxed In is the story of a warehouse, two workers and their obsessions. When their jobs are threatened, their warehouse world totters and they find themselves on a roller coaster ride through a nightmarish wasteland where the absurdity of life is explored with comic precision. Imagine Buster Keaton directing Laurel  & Hardy; add a dash of absurd existentialism, a twist of Greek tragedy..… Flying Saucers! And boxes. Lots of boxes!

An adaptation of great innovation and uniqueness, very special indeed, inspirational.” Essex County Standard

Shifting Sands, with the same renowned flair that has won this innovative company so many plaudits, deftly turns the humdrum into the hilarious, creating an intensely funny show that will have the audience rocking in their seats. The company produces clown theatre that is moving and hilarious with the ability to present a clown’s eye view of epic tales and classic texts as well as contemporary issues.

Suitable for the whole family, Boxed In is a clown theatre show that is comic and moving in its celebration of dreams over drudgery. Tickets are £10 and £6 concession. For more information please go on line www.themet.biz or call the ticket office on 0161 761 2216.
