90s Britpop heroes Dodgy come to The Met performing their 1993 debut album, The Dodgy Album, and their critically acclaimed 2012 album, Stand Upright In A Cool Place on Thursday 9 May at 8pm.
The band’s Back to Back tour is a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the release of their debut. The first time round, Dodgy were only together for seven years but in that time they sold over a million records worldwide, released three albums and 12 Top 40 singles, including 3 Top 10s and the Top 5 hit Good Enough, which is still a staple of radio playlists today.
Stand Upright In A Cool Place is the first new album from Dodgy’s original lineup since 1996. The band’s new work features the same bitter-sweet sun-kissed harmonies which made them famous, but deeper and more mature with bigger choruses and stronger melodies.
“Dodgy’s new album is a revelation” – The Guardian *****
Dodgy were planned to play at The Met in January but unfortunately had to cancel due to snow. In this exciting new tour the band will be supported at The Met by ex-Inspiral Carpets front man Tom Hingley, now a successful solo artist and front man of new band The Lovers.
Tickets for the event are £15. For further information or to book phone ticket office on 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz.
