Blues Rock Legends The Animals play The Met

The Met welcomes legendary blues rockers Animals and Friends on Friday 3 May at 8.30pm.

Featuring from the original Animals – John Steel and Mick Gallagher, alongside Danny Handley (performed with Spencer Davis, Bobby Elliott, RicLee) and Peter Barton (Wayne Fontana’s Mindbenders, Boomtown Rats), Animals and Friends will be playing classics including House of The Rising Sun, We Gotta Get Out Of This Place, Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood and Boom Boom, (as featured in the latest James Bond movie, Skyfall).

In 1964 a wave of new energetic rock and roll swept over the youth of the world. The Animals were the second British band to top the American charts (after The Beetles) with the now multi-million selling legendary album House of the Rising Sun, have achieved over twenty global Top Ten hit records and were the first British band to tour Poland and Japan.

In more recent years Animals and Friends have headlined blues and rock festivals across the country and embarked on tours with special guests including legends Spencer Davis, guitar legend Steve Cropper and the late, great Mick Green. Their appeal continues abroad, too – with shows in Sweden, Portugal, Finland, Italy, Slovenia, Germany and Holland.

“The Animals lived up to expectation – and then some…this was the real thing. Superb vocals, sheer raw energy and massive respect for the unique quality of this bands music”

Tickets for the performance are £15. For more information or to book tickets go online at www.themet.biz or phone Ticket Office on 0161 761 2216.
