Bluesbreaker Buddy Whittington to Perform at The Met

The Met welcomes Bluesbreaker Buddy Whittington on Saturday 13 April at 8pm.

Buddy is perhaps best known for being lead guitarist in John Mayall’s The Bluesbreakers, and is now a solo artist playing a mix of original material, classic blues from the likes of BB and Freddie King to Delbert McClinton and Warren Haynes.

Named by his ex boss of 15 years as “possibly the greatest Bluesbreaker of them all”. When the boss is John Mayall and the “all” includes Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Mick Taylor, Walter Trout and Coco Montoya, this is no lightweight accolade.

He tours with a first class band including Pete Stroud and Roger Cotton both from Peter Green’s Splinter Group, along with drummer Darby Todd. The tone, light and shade that Buddy injects into his playing have earned him many plaudits, including an appearance in Guitarist Magazine’s 100 Top Unsung Guitarists.

Tickets are £14 and £12 Concession. For more information please call the ticket office on 0161 761 2216 or go on line www.themet.biz
