The Met Brings Comedy to Ramsbottom

The Met is organising a monthly Ramsbottom Comedy Club starting on Thursday 1 December at 8pm to be held at Ramsbottom Civic Hall.

Building on the success of The Met’s sell out monthly comedy club in Bury, the new Ramsbottom club will feature the cream of comedy talent. The December Comedy Club will feature top Irish comedian Michael Redmond, best known for playing the lightning-hit Father Stone in cult nineties comedy, Father Ted. Over his long career has also appeared on a number of stand-up TV shows, including BBC2’s Comedy Nation, LWT’s Friday Night Live, BBC One’s The Stand Up Show and Clive Anderson Talks Back.

Michael will be joined by top Canadian comedian Wes Zaharuk, described as ‘Tommy Cooper on acid’, One Like Fish (“Promises to shock” – Sunday Times) and Chris Roche (“Best act of the night, totally ripped the roof off”- The Guardian).

Tickets for the event are £8 with all proceeds going towards The Ramsbottom Festival in 2012. Tickets are available from The Met www.themet.biz or by calling 0161 761 2216. Tickets will also be on sale from A&L Music in Ramsbottom.
