The Met welcomes Kris Drever, Eamonn Coyne and Megan Henderson on Thursday 3 November at 8pm.
Kris Drever, Met regular who has sold out previous events with Drever, McCusker, Woomble, comes to The Met with his exciting new collaboration with Eamonn Coyne and Megan Henderson. The new acoustic band sound created by this combination of highly sought after musicians bring the power and subtlety of evocative song arrangement into the live arena.
Kris Drever is an Orcadian multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer and interpreter of traditional songs. He has travelled the world with the highly acclaimed trio Lau and played with countless greats of the folk music world including Grammy award winner Tim O\’Brien, John McCusker (Mark Knopfler band), Kate Rusby, Roseanne Cash and with popular music stars such as Eddi Reader and Roddy Woomble.
Eamonn Coyne has performed and recorded with a vast array of people including Siobhan and Tommy Peoples, The Wrigley Sisters, Eileen Ivers of Riverdance, Sharon Shannon, Grammy winner\’s Alison Brown and Bela Fleck, and Russell\’s House. Eamonn specialises in traditional Irish music, but is enthusiastic about performing in a range of styles including American old-time. Eamonn currently plays with the Scottish international band ad Met favourite, Salsa Celtica.
Megan Henderson comes from a musical family which includes Allan Henderson of Blazin\’ Fiddles, and Ingrid Henderson of Cliar. A talented multi-instrumentalist, she excels in fiddle, piano, accordion and is also making a name for herself as a leading young singer of traditional music. Megan has become a popular and sought after musician on the Scottish scene; she is the newest member of highly acclaimed band Breabach, and also plays with Salsa Celtica, and Kristan Harvey and the Sanna.
