The Met welcomes Stripes Theatre Company with comedy Two Brothers and One World Cup on Tuesday 27 September at 7.30pm.
Stripes Theatre Company\’s first tour follows The Vindaloo Brothers – UK\’s No1 England Footy Song Tribute Act, set against the backdrop of World Cups 1982-2010. Join us for sibling secrets, lies, laughs and a bit of dodgy guitar playing as we follow the hapless musician\’s lives.
After splitting acrimoniously in 2006, one brother returns to make peace at the 2010 tournament. Can he reconnect to a family that was never really connected in the first place? He\’s wronged his elder sibling and upset all the locals, but he\’s still his Scottish Mam\’s wee soldier. He\’s also got a secret that will crush everybody. How one moment can shape a life.
With a bare set, two actors and two guitars on stage, we\’ve conjured a hilarious production for The Met. The show plays in two 45 minute halves (this can vary depending on how much the crowd want to get involved; we call this extra time) and is suitable for anyone over the age of twelve.
As writer, producer and one of the two brothers performing in the show, Zach has over 80 acting credits to his name covering theatre, TV and film. He received a Best Actor nomination at the 2003 Manchester Evening News Awards for his role in John Godber\’s original stage play Reunion.
Tickets are £10, £6 concessions and £5 for under 26s. Kick Off is at 7.30pm. For more information and to book phone The Met on 0161 761 2216 or go online at www.themet.biz.
