The Met welcomes Findlay Napier on Friday 15 April at 8pm with anthemic tales of love debauchery and sin.
One of the leaders of the Scottish nu-folk revolution, Napier was nominated for Songwriter of the Year at the MG Alba Music Awards in 2010. With upbeat musical vignettes on a host of subjects that range from love sick librarians and dumb struck magicians to peeping toms and guilty johns, all dispatched in his native accent, his catchy sing-along songs have been likened to that of Ben Folds or a Scottish Ian Dury.
Napier\’s career began with award-winning band Back of the Moon, other projects include Queen Anne\’s Revenge, Napier\’s side project with Nick Turner, Findlay Napier & The Bar Room Mountaineers and Hazy Recollections mini-festival in Glasgow. This year Celtic Connections 2011 hosted three Hazy Recollections which featured, among others, The Staves, Amelia Curran, Humbert and Humbert, Alex Cornish, Kitty the Lion, and Woodenbox with a Fistful of Fivers. Findlay is also a member of the Northern Songs Collective led by Ronan Keating sideman Jimmy Docherty.
Tickets for the show are on sale now priced at £8 advance and £10 on the door, Guarantee your place now by calling the ticket office on 0161 761 2216 or visit The Met website www.themet.biz
