Socialist Theatre Course
Led by Tom McLennan
Socialist writers have had a huge influence on modern drama and theatre. This challenging course covers Agitprop, Brecht, Unity Theatre, Augusto Boal, Joan Littlewood, Athol Fungard, Banner Theatre and 7:84 amongst others.
At the end of the course students will put their heads together to see if they can construct a piece of socialist theatre of their own using the techniques they have learnt.
Course runs on Tuesdays for 10 weeks starting Tuesday 7 February 2012.

Yvonne Lyon

The Games
Spike Theatre Company
An 'undiscovered' Aristophanes comedy, The Games tells the story of three Greek nobodies caught up in a celestial bet between Zeus, Hera and Hercules. Our unwitting heroes: Stanzas (a terrible poet), Darius (the runt of the litter) and Hermaphrodite (born a girl) travel to compete in the ancient Olympics and take on the heroes of the sporting world with epic results for mankind.
The Games incorporates clown, original music, song, shadow puppetry and original music.
