TWO BROTHERS AND ONE WORLD CUP

Stripes Theatre Company

Zach Lee's brand new comedy set against the backdrop of World Cups 1982-2010 tells the story of The Vindaloo Brothers, the UK's No1 England Footy Song Tribute Act. After splitting acrimoniously in 2006, one brother returns to make peace at the 2010 tournament. Can he reconnect to a family that were never really connected in the first place?

The unique structure of this play allows the audience to choose the sequence of events at each performance, making every show a premiere. There are 720 different ways of telling this story.

"The wonder of theatre is that the concept of bridging the gap between performer and audience can be taken to new levels. Two Brothers and One World Cup does just that, yet pushes the concept to the extreme by allowing the audience to determine what comes next, and as such, this really is a hugely dynamic, unpredictable production with that added thrill of anticipation and expectancy."The Public Review

"They burst onto the stage with loads of energy and tell their story of betrayal and reconciliation against the backdrop of World Cups 1982 - 2010. They alternate, playing different characters, including a hilarious Ma and Pa, and provide plenty of laughs throughout."Three Weeks

"As it progresses the reasons behind the brothers acrimony towards each other unfolds, with their journey of pain and ultimate recovery portrayed superbly. The contradictory relationship that the two protagonists have with their father is a deeply moving and highly identifiable aspect of the show."The Scotsman

"You don't have to be a football fan to enjoy this play, it's just as amusing for the football hater as it is for the football lover."Rochdale Online
