With special guest Archie Fisher

Homeground is a social enterprise working to support ex-service men and women. They come to The Met presenting Scottish folk legend Archie Fisher (MBE), raising funds for the Coming Home Campaign and the Falklands Veterans Foundation.

Archie Fisher is one of Scotland's foremost folk singer -songwriters and guitarists, also known throughout the country as host of BBC Radio Scotland's Travelling Folk programme, which he presented for over twenty five years.

As a guitarist, Archie, along with Martin Carthy and Davey Graham, was among the earliest steel-string players in British folk music, devising a mix of new tunings and inventive picking that has influenced generations of successors. The range of his talents has led to collaborations with such legendary names as Liam Clancy and Tommy Makem, Silly Wizard, Bert Jansch and Tom Paxton.

Archie released his first solo debut album in 1968, and has diversified over the last 45 years into broadcasting, record production, songwriting and even directing the Edinburgh Folk Festival from 1988 - 1992. He received an MBE for Services to Traditional Music in 2006 and was inducted into the Scots Traditional Music Hall of Fame in 2007. Archie's latest album, Winward Away was released in 2008.
