Homegrown Festival Saturday Afternoon.

The best up-and-coming stars of English folk music presented by Folk Rising in partnership with the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS). Supported using public funding by Arts Council England.

Harp and a Monkey are electro-folk storytellers with a deep Lancashire sensibility that shines through in their beautifully crafted and sometimes spooky vignettes of Northern life, love and remembrance. The trio of Martin Purdy, Andy Smith and Simon Jones channel the ghosts of summers spent in municipal parks and winters walking on the moors.

Lizzie Nunnery has stories to tell and a voice to make you listen. BBC Radio 2's Mike Harding named her debut album Company of Ghosts in his top ten releases of 2010 , and it was nominated for Best Debut in the Spiral Earth awards.

Ethan Thomas first started playing guitar when he was seven years old. In his first year at Fylde Folk Festival he won the Tallyman Trophy, a competition that helped kick off the careers of international Folk Artists such as Kate Rusby and Tim Van Eyken. This gave him a big boost and before long he was getting regular spots at Solfest and many other prestigious festivals across the North of the country.

These events are included in the Homegrown Festival Saturday Afternoon ticket and the Homegrown Festival Weekend Ticket.

Part of Homegrown, The Met's festival of English folk music.
