KRIS DREVER | JAMES YORKSTON | WITHERED HAND - A SONGWRITERS' CIRCLE TOUR

Three of Scotland’s leading singer/songwriters on tour together, on stage together...For these special performances, all three will be on-stage throughout, sharing and joining in on each other's songs, having a laugh and a blether.

Few artists work from as broad and eclectic a platform as James Yorkston. James has been releasing a series of much acclaimed albums on Domino Records since 2002 and has toured the UK, North America, Asia and Europe, building a loyal and dedicated following. A popular figure in the contemporary music world and integral member of the much lauded and hugely influential Fence Collective (King Creosote, Pictish Trail, Beta Band etc), James' style shows a mastery of folk traditions, often drawing on traditional songs, which has seen him collaborate with such heritage artists as the Waterson family, Martin Carthy and the late Bert Jansch, whilst producing his own albums alongside artists such as Four Tet, Rustin Man and Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip).

'Yorkston has reached a state of grace that writers can spend for ever trying to attain: songs that sound not so much written as carefully retrieved from your own subconscious played with an intuition bordering on telepathy. What more could you ask for?'The Times *****

Kris Drever's voice and guitar is a part of the backbone of today's contemporary roots and folk scene. Hugely admired as a solo artist, collaborator, and member of folk superstars Lau, he is a phenomenal and prolific artist. With appearances this summer at Cambridge Folk Festival alongside John Mccusker and Blur guitarist Graham Coxon; a stripped back gig at the Bandstand in Kelvingrove with Eddi Reader, and a spot on BBC One's The One Show playing guitar for Leann Rimes, Drever's profile is at an all-time high and his place at the forefront of British folk music is in no doubt.

'The 10 originals on this third solo outing confirm Drever's songwriting talents ...Understated and unaffected, its simplicity proves winning...'

The Observer ****

Over the past few years Withered Hand - aka Edinburgh DIY folk-rock troubadour Dan Willson - has released an outstanding debut album, 'Good News', seen several of his songs picked up on MTV and cult series 'Skins', and gained an unlikely legion of fans including Jarvis Cocker and Rolling Stone Magazine USA (who decreed him 'Artist to Watch'). Even more surprising when you realise Dan was a visual artist who didn't start writing or singing songs until he turned 30 years old and retains an admirable commitment to the DIY ethos which led him to music in the first place.

'Killer melodies... wobbly folk grooves... tunes full of warm, woozy sing-song charm'Artist to Watch - Rolling Stone
