Kirsty Almeida and The Troubadours

Supported by Ian Reynolds with Paul Cowham

As seen at Ramsbottom Festival, Kirsty Almeida draws you into her enchanting, uplifting and, at times, devilishly dark world.

Classic songwriting mixes with murder lullabies, broken blues-folk beauty, New Orleans soul, voodoo-tinged-pop and a healthy dose of Tim Burton-style brooding.

Bury Jazz Weekender

Bury Jazz Weekender is an opportunity for players of all abilities to learn to play jazz as part of an ensemble.

The weekend begins with Welcome to Jazz, a showcase of the many genres of jazz, from dixieland to bluenote, all explained by the Bury Jazz Weekender's resident tutors.

On Saturday morning participants are split into four groups and will learn a repertoire in time for the gig on Sunday night. Sunday involves a percussion and rhythm awareness session.

Workshop leaders are:

Dave Hassell (drums/percussion) a talented workshop leader who works throughout the North West.

Simon Goulding (bass/guitar) currently the bass player for Snake Davis' band.

Paul Kilvington (piano/keyboards) just finished the Jack Jones tour.

Munch Manship (saxophone) an experienced jazz educator who runs regular groups in Bury and Manchester.

The Jazz Weekender ticket includes admission to all concerts over the course of the weekend.
